Long Spring Evenings in the Capital
May turns London soft and fragrant, with wisteria over the doorways and peonies on every market stall. The days are long, the parks stay open late and the city sheds its winter coat — the best moment to settle in for a few slow evenings at the guesthouse.
Start with a walk through Hyde Park, five minutes from our door. In May the rose garden is at its best, and the Serpentine glows gold just before sunset. Pick up cheese and bread on the way back and join the table in our guest kitchen — spring evenings here usually end with new friends and a second cup of tea.
Three evenings we love in May
First, the movie night in the guest lounge every Thursday: blankets, the projector, and whatever the house votes for. Second, the free walking tour our partners run on Saturdays — it finishes near a pub garden made for long conversations. Third, simply the rooftop hour: nowhere fancy, just the back garden, fairy lights, and whoever is staying that week.
Rooms fill quickly from April to June, so book a few weeks ahead if you can. Long stays of a week or more save up to 20% — spring is the season to slow down.
